Loyal to its slogan «Accept only perfection, make only the highest quality watches», the company Frères Baume stands out on the international market for the quality and precision of their chronographs.
The firm, set up in 1830 by the brothers Louis-Victor and Célestin Baume, has had an astounding trajectory. Top prizes and seven gold medals at international fairs endorse Baume watches, which have also broken records for precision. The conscientious work by Baume won them the Poincon de Genève, the most prestigious award in the world of watchmaking and precision, craftwork and exceptional quality.
Baume expanded rapidly in France and they opened up a branch in London under the name ‘Baume Brothers’. They would soon spread throughout the British Empire, reaching India, Africa, Australia, New Zealand or Burma. At the start of the 1920s, the manager of the enterprise, William Baume, joined forces with Paul Mercier and the set up the currently existing Baume & Mercier, which has become a brand of reference for its timepieces.
